The Center for Biomanufacturing Research Institute & Technology Enterprise (BRITE) is a new state-of-the-art facility for biomolecular research, recombinant synthesis, purification and characterization of biopolymers.

In addition to training the world’s next great scientists, BRITE also provides its faculty with a world-class research facility that allows them to conduct studies spanning subjects such as:

Instruments

  1. Q-TOF Mass Spectrometer

    Mass spectrometer to determine molecular weight of compounds.

  2. 500 MHz NMR Varian Unity INOVA

    Nuclear magnetic reasonance spectrometer to determine compound structure.

  3. LC/MS (multiple units) Agilent 1200

    Liquid chromatography mass spectrometer to detemrine molecualr weight of compounds.

  4. Raman / AFM System

    Provides physical sample information including topography, hardness, adhesion, friction, surface potential, electrical and thermal conductivity, temperature and piezo response combined with the chemical information obtained from Raman spectroscopy
